This is an enlightening, illuminating book. Thanks to Sami & Jill for sharing what our doctors don’t have the time (or inclination) to explain.

This book has been very helpful for me. I had been looking for alternative methods for “fixing” fertility issues rather than going to a specialist and taking synthetic hormones. This was it! Traditional Chinese Medicine. She talks just enough about it without coming off heady and too technical. It’s something I understood. She gives very practical advice and step by step instructions. Most of all I liked that she didn’t get into all the Chinese philosophy too much. Being a follower of Christ that was really important for me. I am now seeing a TCM doctor that does the same and couldn’t be happier. It’s only been 7 weeks and I’ve seen improvement. Warning: This is not a quick fix book but gets to the heart of what’s going on in your body.

I wish I had had this book when I first started trying to conceive. The authors put a lot of information into it in an easy-to-follow manner. I particularly liked all the information on nutrition; it was much more specific about the types/amounts of nutrients/foods I should intake or avoid. The information about fertility types was extremely enlightening. I thought this book was an essential supplement to Taking Charge of Your Fertility, the next best book I’ve read on the subject.

I’ve had appointments with my ob/gyn and I’ve had appointments with a reproductive endocrinologist and something about those appointments left me feeling like something was missing. I never felt that the doctors were taking the “whole” me into consideration when ordering tests or prescribing fertility drugs. The dependence on these procedures and pills didn’t sit well with me. After reading this book, it confirmed what I felt in my heart, that there truly is another way to approach my fertility challenges. It doesn’t have to start with expensive procedures or medication that may or may not be more harmful than good. It can start with taking care of your body, mind, and spirit. In the end, I may fall into the category that needs more invasive assistance to get pregnant, but I will have peace of mind that I have exhausted all possibilities to conceiving naturally. Thank God for the wonderful authors of this book that are able to share this knowledge with us.

I think anyone out there dealing with fertility issues (or really anyone wanting to get pregnant)should get this book. I love how it marries the Eastern & Western theories on fertility. It is laid out really well & very straightforward. Don’t be scared off by the Eastern twist. This book doesn’t feel “new agey” at all, but very practical and easy to understand. I feel empowered that I have a 3 month plan to get my body ready to conceive. Who knows if I’ll need further help down the road, but I’m confident that whatever I do while following the plan will help with those ventures. Just like the authors, I’m all for assisted procedures if it’s necessary, but I’m excited to try on my own first. Good luck to everyone out there!
